Profound moments and lasting lessons

Profound Moments in Hosur
By Stacey

To say today was profound would be a terrible misjustice to the impact that one single day can have.

The day started as any day does here in the warm and luscious area of Hosur, South India—perfectly made curry followed by an aromatic chai. We then made our way to a nearby hotel (with air-con!) to learn all about the history of the MYRADA organisation we are visiting here and to understand the Indian version of Small, Powerful Groups. The presentations and activities were hugely impactful, an absolute treasure trove of knowledge that I cannot wait to share with my fellow Wevo Women upon my return.

We then visited the local Hindu Shiva temple, Arulmighu Chandra Choodeswarar. Situated at the top of the largest hill in the area, the temple dominates the skyline, commanding every person to look skyward toward its magnificent architecture. Leaving our shoes at the boundaries of the holy site, we all cautiously made our way in toward the Shrines, eager not to offend the local holy people with our inexperience of Hindu temple rules.

At this point, I decided to venture alone, a time of solitude to reflect and appreciate the exquisiteness of the moment. I watched an eagle-like bird (apologies to the orthologists among us) soar high on the air streams around the temple top. Static, it held its position with such precision, you’d have thought the vision before me was a watercolor painting. Tears started rolling down my face—happy tears—as I felt such affinity with everything around me.

I was instantly reminded of the goodness in the world—how seemingly ordinary moments can become powerful experiences of personal growth and connection. I thought about Wevolution and the people that make it what it is, how they recognize the goodness in all of us, continually guiding us toward our own moments of growth.

How blessed we are! I can only dream what tomorrow holds…

Three Clever Girls
A fable by Agne

I was standing at the edge of the forest, throwing pebbles into the water, thinking to myself ‘isn’t this pebble at the bottom of the lake the best reminder of how little impact we have in this world?’ One pebble, two pebbles, three pebbles sinking down to the bottomless lake. Something rippled at the edge of my memory. Oh yeah, that story about the clever crown, a fable I’ve heard on my trip to India, I think it was February 2025.

A thirsty crow has come accross a tall clay jug with some water in it. The crown realised that because of the long neck of the jug she will not be able to get any of the water to quench her thirst. She noticed a pile of rocks nearby and one by one she started dropping the stones  into the jug, making the water level go up. One pebble, two pebbles, three pebbles…after a bit of time the water has reached the lip of the jug and the clever crow was able to drink to her content.

As I remembered this story, it made me smile - that crow must have been so proud of herself in the end. Clever girl.

I dropped one more pebble into the loch as I heard steps approach. I turned to see my friend coming down  from the main office with a cup of tea. ‘What you honking about?’ she asked

‘Just remembering that trip we took to India 8 years ago’

‘Oh yeah, that was a good one. Boy, it was so hot, I am glad we chose to stay in Scotland. Well anyway, let's finish our tea and go to bed. The group is expecting us to lead the training course tomorrow ‘

‘Sure thing, pal’

We stood together sipping the tea and throwing the pebbles into the loch, admiring the Cairngorms.
