Meeting Together: We know that creating anything beautiful requires a bit of elbow grease. For groups that elbow grease is often in the form of commitment and just showing up. So our challenge to you is to find a regular meeting time to either connect virtually or in person. You could build accountability into your group during these meetings. For example- how is everyone doing in progressing their goals? If you don’t have any goals then maybe it's more about how is everyone doing mentally this month? How can you support each other better? The format of the meeting is up to you all as a group but the action of meeting and showing up regularly is what lays the foundation for a powerful friendship and community. 

Saving Together: We wholeheartedly believe that saving together can be a life changing safety net as well as a vehicle for commitment for many groups. It sounds counter-cultural right? Like who saves together in this day and age but for many of us this habit of saving together is built into the fabric of our Scottish Communities in the form of menage. We are meant to be supporting one another in life and even by saving 50p or a £1 month into group savings can be used for things like supporting a member when an emergency arises or even planning a yearly getaway together! 

Creating Together: Creating together can feel overwhelming but what we really mean is stop waiting for someone else to create the change you wish to create! So often we waste time either waiting for someone to validate, support or fund our idea instead of taking the small, meaningful, brave but always hard steps required to progress the idea. Small Powerful Groups are spaces where creation and trying it out is encouraged. Trying and failing is a good thing because at the end of the day it means you’ve learned something and are moving in the right direction. So don’t settle for someone else leading on your idea or dream- take the reins and take charge- one baby step at a time.
